Anshuman Rath, born 5 November 1997, is a Hong Kong cricketer who played for and captained the Hong Kong National Cricket Team. In September 2021, he retired from the Hong Kong national Team to pursue a cricket career in India. He is a left-hand wicket-keeper batsman and a Slow Left arm Orthodox spin bowler.

In August 2021, he will be eligible to play as a local player for India as an Indian passport holder, and had played domestic cricket for Odisha from 2021-2022.
On the next year, he returned to Hong Kong’s squad for the Hong Kong Quadrangular Series in March 2023.

Early Life & Family of Anshuman Rath

Anshuman Rath was born on 5 November 1997 in Bhuvaneshwar, Odisha, India in an Odiya family. In the late 1990s, his father left India for business and settled in Hong Kong.
Anshuman started playing cricket at the very young age of just 4 with Tarang. After looking his hard work and passion for cricket his father enrolled him in the cricket academy Pragati Sporting, Bhuvaneshwar.
Education
He completed his primary education at West Island School and completed his graduation from Harrow College in England.
Anshuman Rath Cricket Career
He started playing cricket for Hong Kong national team and made his ODI debut for Hong Kong on 8 November 2014 against Papua New Guinea in Australia.

He made his T20 International debut for Hong Kong against Nepal at the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament on 15 July 2015.
on 11 November 2015, he made his first-class debut against the United Arab Emirates in the 2015–17 ICC Intercontinental Cup tournament.
He made his List-A maiden century in the 2015–17 World Cricket League Championship match against Netherlands on 16 February 2017. In that match, he made a brilliant partnership of 197 runs with Babar Hayat for the third wicket.

In December 2017, he made his first ODI century against Papua New Guinea in the 2015–17 World Cricket League Championship, where he smashed a brilliant knock of 143 not out.
He also became the first player for the Hong Kong team to score the highest Individual ODI score.

He finished the 2015–17 World Cricket League Championship as the leading run scorer with a total of 678 runs in 10 matches.
In August 2018, he was also named as the vice-captain of the Hong Kong national team for the Asia Cup Qualifier Tournament.
However, before the tournament, he replaced Babar Hayat as a captain, when he stepped down from the role. Where he led his team to the Asia Cup Qualifier tournament victory, and then after he was named captain of the Hong Kong national team for the 2018 Asia Cup.
In April 2019, he led the team for the 2019 ICC World Cricket League Division Two tournament in Namibia. Where he became the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 290 runs in six matches.
In an ODI match against India, he and his companion Nizakat Khan made a partnership of 174 runs which was the highest ODI partnership ever for Hong Kong in ODIs.

Where his team lost the match by 26 runs but his performance was praised by the Indian team.
In June 2019, he was selected to play for the Edmonton Royals franchise team in the 2019 Global T20 Canada Tournament.
